The First Conversation About an EHCP
Be specific when you first raise an EHCP with the school, and treat it as a partnership.
A two-minute read, three things to try, for ages 5 to 11.
Where to start
- Open with: “I’ve been thinking about whether an EHC needs assessment is appropriate.”
- Bring specific evidence in writing to the SENCo meeting.
The rest of the tip, with more to try and why it works, is in the library.
It goes with
- Neurodiversity, and the Conversation with the School. For parents whose child has been working harder and longer than other children to do things that come more easily to them.
The first chapter you open here is free to read in full.
