How it helps

After a long absence, a return that is planned in detail is more likely to last. The sheet makes sure the meeting covers what makes the first days possible: a named adult, the hardest lessons, a catch-up plan at your child’s pace and a way to step out.

How to use it

  1. Ask for the meeting before your child goes back, if you can, and take the sheet with you.
  2. Go through each box with the school, and agree exactly what the return will involve.
  3. If a reduced timetable is agreed, write down when it will be looked at again.
  4. Before the first day, tell your child what has been agreed, including who their named adult is and the signal they can give.

How to print it

Print it at home on A4, at actual size (100%) in the print settings. It reads as well in black and white as in colour.
