How it helps
A SENCo can act on specific things you have noticed, and a general worry is harder to act on, however real it is. The sheet helps you ask for the meeting in one short email, and go in with three to five dated examples.
How to use it
- Send the email on the sheet to your child’s class teacher, copying the SENCo. It doesn’t need to say any more than that.
- Before the meeting, write down three to five specific things you’ve noticed at home, numbered and dated.
- In the meeting, note what the school is seeing, what you agreed, and when you’ll meet again.
- Go in as a colleague. It’s the first of several meetings, and doesn’t have to settle everything.
How to print it
Print it at home on A4, at actual size (100%) in the print settings. It reads as well in black and white as in colour.
